Introduction to Group Policy

If you are using Windows 2000 in an Active Directory (AD) domain environment, Group Policy (GP) gives you centralized configuration management for your users and computers.
Policies can be applied to users, computers, or organizational units (OUs). Common policy settings include:
- Desktop configuration
- Password policies
- Software deployment
- Security settings.
Administrators can configure policies through the Active Directory management tools. Group Policy simplifies administration by applying settings consistently across multiple systems.
