Global IPv6 launch is soon here

The next version of the Internet Protocol, IPv6, is soon usable in larger portions of the Internet. Titled the World IPv6 Launch, the initiative by Internet Society aims at starting IPv6 support on the major Internet sites, including Google, Microsoft Bing, Facebook and Yahoo!.
For developers, using IPv6 on the Windows platform shouldn't be a big task, as the latest operating systems have built-in support for IPv6. Most notably, moving from IPv4 to IPv6 is a data size issue: addresses will not anymore fit to 32-bit integers, nor can you always expect to express a string presentation in less than 20 characters.
