For the record: recent Microsoft RTM software version numbers

Just recently, new versions of several important Microsoft products have hit the RTM status, meaning that they are ready and available for a large audience.

As is customary on this blog, I wanted to briefly record the version numbers of the first RTM versions. This version information is useful in many situations, not only in software development. Also, as time goes by, it may be difficult to obtain those older version numbers anymore.

Thus, here goes:

• Windows 8: version 6.2.9200 (thus, it could be called “Windows NT 6.2”)
• Visual Studio 2012: version 11.0.50727.1 RTMREL (this version was often called “Visual Studio 11”)
• .NET Framework 4.5: version 4.5.50709
• SQL Server 2012: version 11.0.2100 (“SQL Server 11”)
