Windows Phone 8 SDK now available for download

Great news for Windows Phone developers: Microsoft has just made available the software development kit (SDK) for Windows Phone 8 developers. You can download your copy here.

Things worth noting: the new SDK requires a Windows 8 machine to run, and the emulators require quite modern hardware (especially the processor). Also, say the release notes: installing the Windows Phone 8 SDK next to Windows Phone 7.1 SDK can break the installation of version 7. Personally, I'll keep these installations on separate computers.

The next actions: study the SDK and find a real Windows Phone 8 device from some of the manufacturers!
