Interesting read: C# named top programming language of 2012

As the 2012 has just passed, I read an interesting news article from eWeek that the C# language was named the top programming language of the past year.

There are two well-known indexes, TIOBE and PYPL to measure language popularity, although, as you surely are aware, no official numbers are available on this topic. This latest piece of news was based on the PYPL index, TIOBE index says that the winner for 2012 is Objective-C (think Apple).
