Internet Explorer 10 available for Windows 7

When Windows 8 came out, Microsoft said that the new Internet Explorer browser features in IE10 version would first be available on that operating system only. The good news is that just a day ago, Microsoft made available IE 10 to Windows 7 users.
To download IE10 for Windows 7, get the installation package here. You will need to have Windows 7 with SP1 (Service Pack 1) installed. You can also install it on Windows Server 2008 R2.
To learn what's new in IE10, take a look at the MSDN documentation and the fine test-drive site. You might also be interested in the new modern.IE web site, which talks about HTML5 compatibility, among else.
For web developers, the new features include better HTML5 and CSS3 support (along with the grid and column layouts, which I find interesting) and improved performance.
But then new and standards-based features are added, something must go. To highlight two discontinued features that I've seen being used on many sites, conditional comments aren't supported anymore, nor are DX filters in CSS files. For a whole list of what's changed, take a look at the Compatibility Cookbook.
Also remember, that some ASP.NET versions fail to detect IE10 properly. Keep your ASP.NET up to date, then.
Enjoy the new browser!
