Windows Phone 8 App Studio now available

Microsoft has yesterday made available the first beta version of the product called Windows Phone App Studio. This is a browser-based application (instead of a traditional development tool which you install and download), and is optimized for Internet Explorer 10.

The application – at apps.windowsstore.com – is available for users with Windows Phone developer accounts, but Microsoft says they have a discount running this summer, and you can get an account for as low as $19.

I had the chance to briefly test the application out, and like the announcement says, you really don't need any coding skills to build a decent application. But for most developers, it stands as a good starting point, and lets you even download the Visual Studio source code for further editing.

Happy clicking!
