Receiving Developer Previews for your Windows Phone

The Windows Phone is constantly updated, and as a developer, you might want to make sure your applications work on the latest release as well. For that reason, Microsoft offers all registered (paid) developers the ability to download latest preview versions to their phone devices (emulator images are made available in a similar fashion).

To install the preview(s) to your phone, you need an app from Microsoft called Preview for Developers, which is a free app from the Windows Phone store.

Note that after you install a preview update, you cannot return your phone to its original state. You can only wait until the next update is officially announced and made available. You can then update your preview to that RTM or stable release.
