Installing Visual Studio 2013 Update 4 and errors when acquiring KB2829760LP update package from the web

When updating your Visual Studio 2013 to the (current) latest update 4, you might receive errors when downloading the update from the web through the installer. More specifically, you might receive the following error:

Unable to locate package source
Please provide a location to search for the packages:
C:\Users\my.name\Downloads\packages\kb2829760\kb2829760-enu.msp

This problem usually goes away when you simply retry the installation. However, in one of my development machines, I noticed this didn't help. Instead, I had to reboot the machine (a Windows 8 box), and after that tried to install again. This time, it worked.
