Finding where your Outlook email account signatures are located

Posted: (EET/GMT+2)

When you are using Office Outlook (current latest version is 2013) for email, chances are you have defined yourself multiple different email signatures, perhaps one for personal use, one for work, and so on. However, have you ever thought of where these signatures are stored?

The location for signature files is under your user profile's AppData folder, for example:

C:\Users\janijarv\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures

This folder contains three files for each signature you create (one in text format [.txt], one in rich text format [.rtf] and one in HTML format). Additionally, there's a subfolder for each signature, for instance to contain the possible image files associated with a signature, but also theme information for Office's own use.

So, if you want to quickly transfer your signatures to a new machine or want to back up your signatures, this is the location. This is covered in Microsoft support document 2691977.

Hope this helps!
