Does the Windows operating system support new 4K sector sizes in hard disks? Yes, since Windows 8!

Newest generation of hard disks, be it modern SSD drives or conventional rotating disks, are starting to support 4 kilobyte (4KB) sector sizes instead of the traditional 512 byte sector size. At first, this might sound like a small change, but in fact it requires support from the operating system to work correctly.
This question is: does Windows support 4K sector sizes in hard drives? Yes, since Windows 8, and to some extent, since Windows 7. Microsoft has written a dedicated support article for this topic.
Hope this helps!
