Official news about ASP.NET 5 are starting to flow

Great posts about ASP.NET 5 are starting to build up, and of course, forthcoming Microsoft's developer conference will give a full coverage of these new things.

ASP.NET 5 is a big change for .NET web developers, and will bring almost as much new technologies as ASP.NET 1.0 did over ten years ago. New architecture, cross-platform support and improved modularity are several of the key benefits. It's going to be very interesting to see where this all is going in the near future.

Just a couple of days ago, Scott Guthrie wrote a blog post about ASP.NET 5. Be sure to check it out.

Along with the architectural changes, developers wishing to take full advantage will also need to learn new technologies. Things such as LESS, Node.js, Bower, Grunt and Gulp are previously unheard of in the Microsoft development circles.

All this sounds great indeed! A lot of exciting new stuff to learn for this year.
