What is “Visual Studio Code”?

Cool new things are coming out from Microsoft. Last month, Microsoft made available "Visual Studio Code", which is a free, cross-platform code editor and debugger for various languages. I tested Visual Studio Code on a Mac ProBook, and it works very well.

I'm happy to see this kind of tools that support many languages and platforms, and this complements well with Microsoft web development vision about ASP.NET 5.
