Using Microsoft Edge browser to access web sites (like WhatsApp Web or Slack) that think Edge is not a supported browser

Microsoft's Edge is a new browser, and not all web applications have yet been updated to support it. For instance, two popular messaging applications, WhatsApp Web and Slack both have issues from time to time, and can display a message that you're not using a supported browser.

Luckily, you can still often fix the problem by invoking the developer tools with the F12 key. In Edge, you can go to the Emulation tab, and then specify which browser you want to emulate. After this, you should be fine accessing most sites, for instance WhatsApp Web or Slack.

For instance, try the following browser agent string:
