Microsoft introduces new access tier “Cool” to Blob Storage

If you are using Azure's blob storage to store large amounts of data, you'll appreciate Microsoft latest announcement: the "Cool" storage access tier for Blob Storage.

The new storage tier is a low-cost tier with slightly lesser availability than the normal "Hot" blob storage tier. You can choose between the Hot and Cool access tiers, and use the new Cool tier for data that you need to access less-often, such as backup data or archive/history data.
