Excel tip: compare two spreadsheets with Spreadsheet Compare, part of Office

Sometimes, being able to compare two Excel spreadsheets can come handy. I last ran into such a need when I have two versions of the same file, and wanted to consolidate changes. Unlike Office Word, Excel does not have a built-in comparison tool, but you can start a tool called Spreadsheet Compare manually. This is a separate utility, but gets installed whenever you install Office and/or Excel.

To start the tool, open Spreadsheet Compare from the Start menu, and then select two files (new and old, if you will) and then you can visually see the differences.

Hope this helps!
