Visual Studio turns 25

Time flies when you're having fun. Just a couple days ago, the Visual Studio IDE (with this product name) turned 25 years, that's a quarter of a decade. I can recall getting my hands on the first versions, they were distributed on CD-ROMs. Along with the offline MSDN documentation, I believe it took at least two CDs to install. One CD could hold about 650 MB, so it was a huge product even then.

Microsoft hosted a Visual Studio 25th Anniversary Event, which was a nice one. You can look at the recording on Microsoft's developer blog page.
