Visual Studio for Mac retired

Microsoft has just announced that they are going to retire Visual Studio for Mac, the separate IDE tool.

The latest support date is about 12 months from now, until August 31, 2024. The product will likely work after that date, too, but no further development work or fixes (except security) are going to be delivered.

Microsoft's solution is to use Visual Studio Code (VS Code) instead, with the newish C# Dev Kit. This is a good solution, but of course not an exact match for the original Visual Studio for Mac.

I'm used the Mac version occasionally myself, but my main tools stay on Windows. Good to know nonetheless.
