How does Microsoft build the .NET platform and the framework itself?

Last week, Microsoft published an interesting article in the DevBlogs about how Microsoft internally builds and “composes” the .NET platform and the framework itself from dozens of smaller pieces.

The article provides a nice peek into the inner working of the Microsoft build system, and based on the articles, internal changes are also coming. They call it "Unified Build", and perhaps, it materializes around .NET 11 time (late 2026) or possibly after that.
