GitHub Copilot moves to prepayment for monthly credit card subscriptions

GitHub recently announced that they are again taking new Copilot Business and Enterprise signups. Among the news was something that affects those paying the monthly subscriptions with either credit cards or Paypal.

The change is that starting on October 1, all monthly subscriptions (seats) are to be paid before use. In other words, the billing system moves from pay-after-use to prepaid.

This also means that if you purchase a subscription or add a new seat in the middle of the month, you pay for the days left that month (prorating). But if you decide to leave/decrease seat count during the month, you get a price decrease only after the month ends.

So far, from the beginning, the billing cycle was at the end of the month for the seats you used. After October, this changes.
