New agentic AI developer platform: Entire

You might have noticed that agentic AI development stresses new parts of the development process that we previously thought were okay. The old rule holds: when you optimize one thing, the bottleneck moves to another thing.

Yesterday, ex-CEO of GitHub, Thomas Dohmke has launched a new developer platform called Entire. The plan is very compelling for modern software development, and I think their web site puts it well:

Source Control is at a Breaking Point. Agents waste tokens searching for answers. There's too much code to review. Agents push faster than pipelines run. And infrastructure can't scale for the agentic era.

They also have plans to replace traditional Git-style Pull Requests (PRs) with something called Trails.

Of course, it's still too early to say what will come out of this, but I think the ideas are good and also align what Anthropic is doing with their Scion model. It's also interesting to see if Microsoft is going to implement a response in their GitHub. After all, that's where Mr. Dohmke was previously.
